He cracks me up every day. We are in the process of buying a fridge off of Craigslist for the garage. This is our IM conversation:

ME: did you call the fridge guy ?

JOHN: yeah

he's busy

expecting his "first born"

whatever

I need that fridge!

ME: whatever!

so what, are they just sitting at the hospital waiting for the kid? How does that affect our fridge sale?

JOHN: I don't know

I told him it's no big deal

we have kids all the time

You can't just put your life on hold

what kind of an example do you think he's setting
