Music & Kids

Sunday, June 22, 2008

So this morning I was cleaning the house and playing Pink Floyd (yeah John I know you are laughing at me) on my iPod. I was sort of wierded out because the kids were running around and it was just kind of strange to listen to music I listened to in high school play while my three children were playing around me. Like my two worlds were colliding sort of. LOL My younger kidless me, and the older mother me. Its not like this is the first time I have listened to it with them around of course.. just the first time I have really thought of it like that. I dont really do the whole kid-music thing - Raffi or the Wiggles or whatever. Its fine if its on tv but I am not playing that in the house or the car. Real music is good for them. Well, maybe not the Doors. That might not be good for them but everything else is. Andrew is a big fan of U2.
Meanwhile Liam is running around playing with some sort of cord so I better go look into that.

I feel the same way about music...my kids listening to music that is older than I am. I love when they sing the words to Beatles songs. I love the Beatles. I have 105.9 on ALOT lately.
One of their favorites is Wings I think, they wave their hands in the air singing " Hands across the water..water..Hands across the sky"
