Random thoughts

Thursday, June 26, 2008

My mom picked up Andrew & Elaina at camp today and took them out for pizza. I guess she wasn't all that impressed with it. (American Pie, for you locals) They served soda with the kids meals, and if you wanted milk or juice it was extra. My kids dont drink soda. And she said the sauce was really really salty. Blech. I bought a pizza stone a few weeks ago. Maybe one of these days I will get it out of the box and actually make a pizza on it.

So what else. I met John and some coworkers of his for lunch at Chili's. Do you know that they no longer serve the Awesome Blossom? I dont know if that is all Chili's or just this one but I thought that was, like, their signature thing. Interesting.

I am trying to hook up the new cable box to the new tv and its a pita because the tv is on the wall and I cant friggin see the back of it. So that is going to have to wait till later.

So really that's it. Totally random and not even really all that interesting, is it? I just wanted to get that Neil Entwistle crap lower down on the page. It is pissing me off.

Yay

The bastard got what he deserved

This man is the worst scum of the earth. I am trying to think of who might be worse. Scott Peterson? Mmm. No. His baby was not even born yet, so he didnt see him when he killed his wife and child. Here is a link in case you dont know: He shot his wife and 9 month old baby girl in their bed. NINE MONTH OLD DAUGHTER. Can you even begin to wrap your mind around the sick evil fuck that this man is. He did it because his wife wasnt enough of a whore to him in the bedroom, and he wanted to be free to hook up with random women he found online. Nice huh. For that, he killed a little innocent baby. I look forward to the day I hear he is getting pounded in the ass at prison. Then he can really live out his fantasies.

Polygamists

Sunday, June 22, 2008

OK so in the past two weeks I have read two books written by women who have escaped the FLDS and now there is a special on MSNBC and I am riveted! I am just so fascinated with these people. For one thing, what the hell is going on with that HAIR?!!?!!
Gotta go the special is back on.

Music & Kids

So this morning I was cleaning the house and playing Pink Floyd (yeah John I know you are laughing at me) on my iPod. I was sort of wierded out because the kids were running around and it was just kind of strange to listen to music I listened to in high school play while my three children were playing around me. Like my two worlds were colliding sort of. LOL My younger kidless me, and the older mother me. Its not like this is the first time I have listened to it with them around of course.. just the first time I have really thought of it like that. I dont really do the whole kid-music thing - Raffi or the Wiggles or whatever. Its fine if its on tv but I am not playing that in the house or the car. Real music is good for them. Well, maybe not the Doors. That might not be good for them but everything else is. Andrew is a big fan of U2.
Meanwhile Liam is running around playing with some sort of cord so I better go look into that.

Quiet mornings this week

Wednesday, June 18, 2008

Andrew & Elaina are in art camp all this week and next. Its from 9:30-12:30, and I find myself a bit lost as to what to do with myself while they are there. Of course I have Liam to take care of, but its so quiet and easy with one kid in the house! Not complaining though. LOL In 2 weeks we go to Boca for a few days to hang with the grandparents.
Not much else going on really. Here is a random picture of my girl.

Elaina's dance recital

Monday, June 9, 2008

Well, after much stress and tension (mine), Elaina had her dance recital yseterday. The reason for all the stress is that she refused to dance in class a few times, and threw a complete tantrum at picture day. I was soooooo embarrassed. The dance teachers, the freaking director of the studio, the photographers, and of course - all the parents were witness to my humiliation at the hands of my precious princess. So I was basically white-knuckled the whole time we were at rehearsal. At first she took one look at the stage and said, "I dont want to do that." Shit. I of course was all "oh its so fun and you love to dance" blah blah blah. By the time it was her turn (26 numbers into the show, for the love of god) she couldnt wait for her turn. Great! But then she realized that mommy isnt going up there with her. She refused to go on. I ended up walking her all the way backstage, any closer and I would have actually been onstage. We talked, I talked, I listened, I explained, I commiserated, I understood. Finally I threatened, as any good parent does, and on she went. And she had a blast. She was jumping around, "flying" (she is a butterfly, in case you didnt know) and bowing. Not so much dancing, but hey - she was up there, and who am I to be picky?
After the rehearsal she realized the joys of performing and having all that attention. Oh yes. Needless to say, she went quite willingly when the time came for the actual performace later in the day.
(the stage photos here are from dress rehearsal, the teachers were not on with them during the show)
By the way, the theme to the show was "A Trip to New York"... her dance was "Central Park Zoo" and she was a panda bear.
